Israel launches fresh airstrike on Gaza Strip


GAZA, 2 Apr 2012 - Israeli warplanes have launched an airstrike on the besieged Gaza Strip, the first such attacks since a truce ended an eight-day Israeli onslaught on the coastal enclave in November.

Hamas Interior Ministry said in a statement that Israeli jets bombarded an open area in northern Gaza late on Tuesday, Reuters reported.



Israeli police accompany rightists entering Aqsa mosque compound

JERUSALEM, 27 Mar 2013 - Dozens of Israeli Jews on Wednesday entered the courtyards of al-Aqsa Mosque under heavy protection of Israeli forces which prevented Palestinian worshipers from accessing the mosque for prayer.

Police also denied Knesset member Moshe Feiglin access to the compound. Feiglin on Tuesday called upon Israelis to head to the al-Aqsa compound on the occasion of the Jewish Passover festival.

Hasil cukai Palestin akan dipindahkan

TEL AVIV, 27 Mac 2013 - Israel bersetuju untuk melepaskan hasil cukai yang dikutip bagi pihak Palestin yang dibekukan pada tahun lalu, menurut kenyataan pejabat perdana menteri, kelmarin.

Menurut AFP, keputusan itu diambil selepas berunding dengan Presiden Amerika Syarikat (AS), Barack Obama yang berkunjung ke Israel dan Tebing Barat, minggu lalu.


PA: Life-term detainee in critical condition

RAMALLAH, 27 Mar 2013 - The condition of a Palestinian prisoner is deteriorating in Israeli jail, a lawyer representing detainees for the Palestinian Authority said Tuesday.

Fadi Abedat said Mansour Mouqadeh, 41, from Salfit, who was sentenced to a life term, was shot in the back years earlier and suffers from paraplegia.


Hunger striker deported to Gaza

GAZA, 18 Mar 2013 - Ayman Al-Sharawneh arrived in the Gaza Strip on Sunday having been deported from his home in the occupied West Bank as part of a deal with the Israeli prison authorities for ending his hunger strike. The ex-prisoner must stay in Gaza for 10 years before he might be allowed back to the West Bank.

Al-Sharawneh has been on hunger strike for several months in protest at prison conditions. His health had deteriorated badly as a result of his protest.


Corrie family calls on Obama to seek justice from Israel

BETHLEHEM, 16 Mar 2013 - The father of Rachel Corrie on Friday called for justice from Israel, a day before the tenth anniversary of his daughter's death.

Rachel Corrie, 23, was killed by an Israeli army bulldozer in the Gaza Strip on March 16, 2003, while trying to prevent the Israeli army from demolishing Palestinian houses.
